PREVIEW: BIRMINGHAM v OXFORD (ROWE Motor Oil Prem)
BIRMINGHAM bid to put their first ROWE Motor Oil Premiership league victory on the board when they face fellow newcomers Oxford at Perry Barr tonight (Monday).
The Brummies have impressed in their early outings, taking a point at home to champions Sheffield last week, and the aggregate point is also at stake against the Spires, who travel with a four-point advantage.
New averages mean Scott Nicholls drops to reserve for the hosts in what is set to be his final appearance before Piotr Pawlicki returns, whilst Oxford operate rider replacement for Maciej Janowski who is racing in the Polish Golden Helmet.
Brummies CEO Nigel Tolley said: “We have to be targeting the three league points.
“Don’t get me wrong, we’ll have to work hard for it because Oxford have got a solid, very experienced side and they’ve had a good start to the season.
“But I’ve also been really pleased with a lot of what I’ve seen from our riders and having let things slip a little late on in our last couple of meetings, they’re all fired up to get that first win.”
BIRMINGHAM: Vaclav Milik, Wiktor Lampart, Zach Cook, Tom Brennan, Steve Worrall, Scott Nicholls, Leon Flint.
OXFORD: Maciej Janowski R/R, Charles Wright, Nicolai Klindt, Chris Harris, Rohan Tungate, Lewis Kerr, Ashton Boughen, Luke Killeen (no.8).
SCB Referee: Chris Durno
