BECKER’S DREAM DEBUT

AMERICAN ace Luke Becker has reflected on a strong debut for Leicester – and he says there’s even more to come.

Becker made the switch across the Midlands from Wolverhampton over the winter due to Monmore Green being made unavailable for speedway by stadium owners.

And he kicked off his time with the Lions by scoring 11+2 in their 47-42 ROWE Motor Oil Premiership win over King’s Lynn.

Becker said: “It’s something I’m happy with, and also even there’s stuff to build off and learn from too.

“This is a new track and new club for me, after one night I think we’re all settling in good, but at the same time there’s still much more to learn and I’m really looking forward to the year and excited about it.

“I’d only done one meeting here before today, we had press and practice last week and I was trying to learn everything and find different lines, to and get the experience.

“It’s still a technical track, it’s not like the track where you just hold her flat out and go around. You’ve got to learn it, and that’s what I’m looking forward to this year.”
