WRIGHT LINE-UP TAKING SHAPE

FORMER British Champion Charles Wright is finalising preparations for his Testimonial at Redcar on Sunday March 17.

The Bears captain has secured the services of World No.2 Fredrik Lindgren, who is racing in several early-season events in the UK, along with Brady Kurtz, Norick Blodorn, Erik Riss, Jaimon Lidsey, Danny King, Richard Lawson, Jye Etheridge and Jason Edwards.

Wright told Speedway Star: “I’m very happy with the line-up so far and am sure the Redcar fans and everyone else who is going to attend will be too.

“It’s going to be a 16-rider individual with a semi and a final, so 22 heats in total, but obviously there will be other attractions like some of the Young Lions doing demonstration races.

“The field mainly consists of riders I have had connections with, either through being team-mates or becoming friends with them over the years.”
