PREVIEW: MILDENHALL v LEICESTER (NDL KO Cup Final)

MILDENHALL and Leicester clash in the first leg of the NDL KO Cup Final at West Row today (Sunday) – which is a repeat of the 2022 Final.

The Lion Cubs are defending the silverware and have also reached the league Grand Final once again, but are without No.1 Dan Thompson who is still sidelined with a shoulder injury.

Leicester bring in Jack Smith to replace him whilst Kai Ward again stands in at reserve for the hosts.

Mildenhall boss Jason Gardner said: “It’s so important that we get a win in the first leg on Sunday. That has to be our first priority and obviously the bigger the winning margin can, the better.

“But we do at the very minimum need that win to send our fantastically loyal fans at West Row home for the winter on the back of a long-overdue win over Leicester.

“We have a coachload of supporters travelling up to the East Midlands for the second leg on Saturday and we want to give them something to be able to cheer on there.”

Cubs manager Dave Howard said: “We had a positive night for everybody when we beat them at home last week, and now what we want to do is keep that positive mindset going into the two Finals.”
