PREVIEW: REDCAR v GLASGOW (Cab Direct Champ P/O Group B)

GLASGOW face a must-win trip to Redcar tonight (Wednesday) in order to keep alive their hopes of reaching the Cab Direct Championship Grand Final.

The Tigers need two wins from their last two matches, as well as the aggregate point when they host Oxford, in order to overhaul the Cheetahs at the top of play-off Group B.

They picked up a win on Teesside this month in regular league competition, and Jack Smith again stands in at reserve for the injured Ace Pijper, with rider replacement in operation for Claus Vissing.

Meanwhile Bears bring in Justin Sedgmen to guest for the injured Charles Wright, and Luke Harrison again replaces Jake Mulford at reserve.

Glasgow boss Cami Brown said: “It’s now win or bust. The Cheetahs have set us the biggest task possible.

“They have shown an awful lot of class and resilience to remain unbeaten at the top of the Cab Direct Championship Group B. But our destiny is still in our own hands.

“It is very achievable for this Tigers side to win at Redcar and then beat Oxford by 11 points to reach the Grand Final.”

Redar manager Gavin Parr said: “Whilst the play-offs haven’t gone the way we all had hoped for, if we can beat Glasgow and a few of the boys have a good night then the side will have built up some momentum ahead of the Scunthorpe (KO Cup) match.”

REDCAR: Danny King, Danyon Hume, Connor Bailey, Justin Sedgmen, Erik Riss, Jason Edwards, Luke Harrison.
GLASGOW: Chris Harris, Tom Brennan, Benjamin Basso, Claus Vissing r/r, Vadim Tarasenko, Lee Complin, Jack Smith.
