TIGERS TARGET NEXT CHALLENGE

GLASGOW notched their first win in Group B of the Cab Direct Championship play-offs by defeating Redcar 55-35 at Ashfield.

The Tigers now face a crucial home clash with Oxford on Tuesday in a group where the aggregate point between those sides may prove to be decisive.

Chris Harris scored 13+1 and Benjamin Basso added 13 in their victory on Saturday, with Tom Brennan and Vadim Tarasenko also in double figures with 11+1 apiece.
Danny King scored 13 for the Bears, who have lost twice in the space of 24 hours this weekend.

Glasgow boss Cami Brown said: “I’m not going to look too far ahead. It’s a cliche but it’s one meeting at a time for us.

“This was an important win over Redcar obviously. We needed to make sure we got the job done.

“It was a good display from all the boys. But we now need to find a special performance to beat Oxford on Tuesday night.

“We need Ashfield to be packed out with our fans making it a wall of noise. It can be a very unique and special atmosphere at Ashfield under the lights. We need the boys to respond and find an extra gear to beat a very good team.”
