POSTPONED: BERWICK v BELLE VUE (NDL)

AN early morning decision was taken to postpone Saturday’s Berwick v Belle Vue NDL match following heavy overnight rain and a poor forecast for the remainder of the day. A new date will be announced in due course.

BERWICK stage their final NDL fixture tonight (Saturday) as they host Belle Vue at Shielfield Park.

The Bullets will cease to operate in the third tier next year as the club concentrates on its Cab Direct Championship business, and they attempt to sign out with a win whilst the Colts are chasing a top three finish although a place in the Grand Final is beyond them.

Berwick operate rider replacement for the suspended Steve Boxall whilst Luke Killeen and Tom Spencer guest for injured duo Connor Coles and Greg Blair.

Meanwhile the Colts are without Sam Hagon due to injury and operate rider replacement, whilst Ed Davison steps in at reserve with Luke Muff ruled out.

Belle Vue co-boss Graham Goodwin said: “It seems fitting that we bookend our campaign against the team we faced first, all that time ago at Easter, and the boys have given us a brilliant chance of the aggregate point.

“Berwick are not without their absentees too, but we won’t be taking anything for granted as, I’m certain they will be wanting to end on a high just like we do.”

BERWICK: Steve Boxall r/r, Luke Killeen, Jamie Halder, Tom Spencer, Danny Phillips, Kieran Douglas, Mason Watson.
BELLE VUE: James Pearson, Matt Marson, Sam Hagon r/r, Freddy Hodder, Jack Smith, Jack Shimelt, Ed Davison.
