PREVIEW: OXFORD v GLASGOW (Cab Direct Champ P/O Group B)
OXFORD and Glasgow meet at Cowley tonight (Wednesday) in a mouthwatering opening to Group B of the Cab Direct Championship play-offs.
The Tigers recently won the Pairs at the same venue, knocking the Cheetahs out in the semi-finals with Chris Harris breaking the track record along the way.
Oxford name a full-strength side after recent injury concerns over Cameron Heeps, who crashed out of the regular league match between the teams at Ashfield last Friday.
Meanwhile the visitors operate rider replacement as Claus Vissing is still missing with a knee problem, and Jack Smith stands in for the injured Ace Pijper at reserve.
Cheetahs boss Peter Schroeck said: “While the success story of this season remains relevant, we can’t allow it to cloud our mentality and impact how we approach these next four fixtures.
“Glasgow are a well-established side at this level and demonstrated on Friday in our final regular season meeting how powerful they can be when things click. We’re wary of that, but at the same time have confidence in our own ability to do a good job on home shale.
“It’s key we make the most of our home track knowledge as aggregate points could dictate who ends the mini-league top and who has to watch the Grand Final from afar.”
OXFORD: Sam Masters, Cameron Heeps, Lewis Kerr, Jordan Jenkins, Scott Nicholls, Ashton Boughen, Henry Atkins.
GLASGOW: Chris Harris, Claus Vissing r/r, Benjamin Basso, Tom Brennan, Vadim Tarasenko, Lee Complin, Jack Smith.
