TIGERS BOOSTED BY AWAY WIN

GLASGOW warmed up for the Cab Direct Championship play-offs with a 39-33 win at Redcar in a meeting curtailed due to torrential rain.

The Tigers collected their fifth away victory of the season and may have inflicted a psychological blow as the two clubs are both in Group B for the upcoming mini-league along with Oxford.

Captain Tom Brennan scored 10+2 from five rides with Vadim Tarasenko adding 10, whilst Danny King picked up 10 for the hosts, who were on a 5-1 in Heat 13 when the race was stopped due to a fall for Chris Harris, at which point the weather intervened to prevent a resumption.

Glasgow also took the aggregate point leaving them just four points behind leaders Poole in third place in the final standings of the regular league table. The Bears finished fifth, just behind Scunthorpe, but are also safely in the play-offs.
