PREVIEW: KING’S LYNN v IPSWICH (Sports Insure Prem)
IPSWICH need a win at King’s Lynn in a crucial fixture tonight (Monday) to keep their Sports Insure Premiership play-off hopes alive.
Should the Witches be successful at the Adrian Flux Arena in their final regular league match, they will pile the pressure on Leicester in their own away trips this week to Wolverhampton and Peterborough.
The Stars are fighting to avoid bottom spot and overturned leaders Belle Vue in their last home outing. Connor Mountain makes another guest appearance with rider replacement in operation for Nicolai Klindt, and Emil Breum returns to the side.
For the visitors, youngster Ashton Boughen again comes in as Rising Star with Dan Thompson on the injury list.
Ipswich boss Ritchie Hawkins said: “We talk a lot about the rivalry but there is a bigger picture to look at going into this meeting now. The main point is putting as much pressure on Leicester as possible in the race for the play-offs.
“The form we are in, what that could bring to the end of the season with the Cup Final, it could be an exciting few weeks.
“We have aimed all season to be in the play-offs and we have got the massive motivation that a win at King’s Lynn gives us a chance of that.”
Stars promoter Keith Chapman said: “The Belle Vue match ten days ago was absolutely sensational and it was great to feel the atmosphere after Robert’s (Lambert) ride in Heat 15.
“This should be another big night and we know what Ipswich will be trying to do, so we’d be delighted to stop that of course. And with Robert facing the likes of Emil (Sayfutdinov) and Jason (Doyle), that’s a great way to end the home season.”
KING’S LYNN: Robert Lambert, Nicolai Klindt r/r, Emil Breum, Connor Mountain, Michael Palm Toft, Simon Lambert, Anders Rowe.
IPSWICH: Emil Sayfutdinov, Danyon Hume, Danny King, Erik Riss, Jason Doyle, Keynan Rew, Ashton Boughen.
