PREVIEW: BELLE VUE v KING’S LYNN (Sports Insure Prem)
BELLE Vue continue to warm up for the Sports Insure Premiership play-offs at home to King’s Lynn tonight (Monday) – where they face one of their title winners from last year.
Robert Lambert stepped in as an injury replacement for Max Fricke and helped the Aces to play-off victory, but now he has returned to the Stars for the final six matches of the season.
The visitors also bring in Connor Mountain to guest for the injured Thomas Jorgensen, whilst rider replacement is in operation for Nicolai Klindt. Simon Lambert has been named as captain after Klindt was ruled out for the remainder of the season.
Aces boss Mark Lemon said: “We’re the team with the target on our backs. Our league title defence is now ramping up dramatically and the clubs who join us in the play-offs would take great pleasure in defeating us.
“But I feel that we have still to see the best of this team. All season long we have been consistent, we have performed well away from home perhaps more so than we’ve ever done.
“King’s Lynn have really sent out a statement with the signing of Robert Lambert and his return is a welcomed additional to the Premiership.”
Robert Lambert said: “King’s Lynn will always have a place in my heart, but I did have a great time with Belle Vue as well, and the success of the league title.
“Their original team throughout the whole season did the hard work to get into the position and I was just happy that I could fill Max’s boots and come in and finish the season off with a win.
“I got a warm welcome at Belle Vue which was great because I haven’t ridden for any other club in the top league, so I’m looking forward to riding there again.”
