PREVIEW: WOLVERHAMPTON v LEICESTER (Sports Insure Prem)
LEICESTER have made a double change ahead of their Sports Insure Premiership trip to Wolverhampton tonight (Monday).
The Lions have brought in Richie Worrall and Craig Cook as they rebuild again following the suspension of Nick Morris – with skipper Chris Harris making way along with recent signing Troy Batchelor.
Worrall, who rode for the club in the Championship in 2019 and 2022, joins from Peterborough with Harris heading in the opposite direction.
Lions manager Stewart Dickson said: “I’ve got to stress that I was very, very happy with the seven riders we had up until four weeks ago when the Nick situation arose. There were no changes on the horizon at that stage.
“Richie and Craig will form a new middle-order, and I know they are both very, very good around Leicester which obviously ticks a lot of boxes.
“It was clear that Troy has been playing catch-up racing-wise and fitness-wise on what everybody else has on him in the Premiership.
“I’m pleased to see Bomber has got fixed up straight away, which does soften the blow a bit for him, and it’s not an ideal situation especially as he was my captain.”
Both sides start the meeting in the play-off places, and Rory Schlein returns to the Wolves side after missing the win at Peterborough last Monday.
Boss Peter Adams said: “I feel they’re a very threatening opposition.
“They’re a good-looking team and I think we’re going to need to be very much on our game to send them packing.
“We enjoyed a solid all-round team effort at Peterborough last week though and Rory (Schlein), being fit again will only give us a further boost.”
WOLVERHAMPTON: Sam Masters, Steve Worrall, Luke Becker, Ryan Douglas, Rory Schlein, Zach Cook, Leon Flint.
LEICESTER: Max Fricke, Justin Sedgmen, Richie Worrall, Craig Cook, Richard Lawson, Jake Allen, Drew Kemp.
