PREVIEW: KING’S LYNN v IPSWICH (Sports Insure Prem)

IPSWICH manager Ritchie Hawkins expects maximum determination in tonight’s (Thursday) Sports Insure Premiership trip to King’s Lynn.

The Witches boosted their outside play-off chances with a win at Leicester on Monday and are now looking to follow it up at the Adrian Flux Arena, with a visit to Peterborough to come next week.

The injury-hit Stars bring in Benjamin Basso to guest for Michael Palm Toft, with rider replacement in operation for Thomas Jorgensen whose season is over after his crash last week at Edinburgh.

Meanwhile Artem Laguta returns at No.1 for the home side and is set for his first showdown with Ipswich’s Emil Sayfutdinov in league competition on a UK circuit.

Hawkins said: “It was a great result on Monday, but it doesn’t take any of the importance away from a victory on Thursday. For our hopes of the play-offs, we need to win but the main thing is that we need to beat King’s Lynn.

“I’m sure we will have a lot of travelling support and we need to put in a great performance for them and send everyone home with a victory because they deserve that.

“King’s Lynn have had another poor season, but they will be made aware of what a victory over us means to them. I don’t think they will be as determined as we will be, everyone at the club and in the side is well aware of the importance of victory on Thursday and what it means to us.”

Stars boss David Hoggart said: “The new averages are out for August, and we are largely in the same shape because it seems to work well with Nicolai (Klindt) at No.5.

“Ipswich will be tough, but I certainly hope they don’t come and turn us over. I know I’ve been saying that for a month now, and it has been difficult for us.

“Losing Thomas is another blow, but we’ve got to do our very, very best. You could see riders racing for it last week, and hopefully they will make some better starts as that was where we lost out against Peterborough.”

KING’S LYNN: Artem Laguta, Thomas Jorgensen R/R, Benjamin Basso, Emil Breum, Nicolai Klindt, Simon Lambert, Anders Rowe.
IPSWICH: Emil Sayfutdinov, Erik Riss, Danny King, Keynan Rew, Jason Doyle, Danyon Hume, Dan Thompson.
