PREVIEW: BELLE VUE v IPSWICH (Sports Insure Prem)
SPORTS Insure Premiership leaders Belle Vue are looking for another double over Ipswich in tonight’s (Monday) live televised fixture.
The Aces won 46-44 at Foxhall on Thursday to open up a ten point lead at the top of the table, leaving with Witches urgently needing a response on the road to rekindle their play-off hopes.
Recently signed Rising Star Connor Bailey makes his home debut having been crowned British Under-21 Champion on Sunday, and Aces No.1 Dan Bewley will also be welcomed back home after his Swedish GP victory.
Belle Vue boss Mark Lemon said: “We have been on a bit of a roll recently and that success can sometimes snowball, but at the same time it can also be the other way around.
“I would much prefer to be in our position than Ipswich’s, but that only makes them a more formidable opponent when it comes to the home leg at the National Speedway Stadium.
“Things were very close at Foxhall and it was all credit to our lads that their tenacity and determination won out, and we’ll need to make sure we’re on top of our game on Monday.”
Ipswich promoter Chris Louis said: “We have got to go there and ask the riders as individuals to give 100 per cent and look for solutions to their own problems. We have got to work with what we have got and get the best out of what we have got.
“I do feel for Jason (Doyle) and Emil (Sayfutdinov), it’s not just the fact that they are scoring big points, it is the effort they are putting in, it is huge, and they just want to win.
“It is very disappointing for them when we are not winning, and I would like to see us put in a team performance.”
