SIXTH WIN FOR TIGERS
GLASGOW made it six wins out of six in the Cab Direct Championship with No.1 Chris Harris scoring a spectacular 15-point maximum at Birmingham.
Harris went through the card from five rides on his old home track as the Tigers won 53-36, with Tom Brennan adding 11+2.
Reserve Alfie Bowtell clocked up 14 from seven outings for the Brummies, who were unable to field Nick Morris at No.1 after he was deemed unfit to race in the build-up to the meeting, with no facility available.
Glasgow boss Cami Brown said: “Chris was sensational yet again. He produced two brilliant passes from the back and was different class.
“I’m delighted for all the boys to have a really good night. Everyone got stuck in and scored a few.
“It’s another big win for us on the road. We’ve won two vital meetings in five days and now we need to kick on.”
Birmingham CEO Nigel Tolley said: “Under the circumstances I thought that was a brave effort from our six riders.
“Taking on second place in the league who had won all five of their league fixtures to date is hard enough – but that becomes one huge mountain to climb when your No.1 is ruled out before a wheel is turned.
“We understand the frustration and disappointment of the supporters – we share that right now and we will update everyone on the situation with Nick as and when we can.”
