BOXALL JOINS BULLETS

BERWICK have signed double National League Riders’ Champion Steve Boxall for the remainder of the 2023 season.

The experienced Boxall, who made his debut for Rye House Raiders in 2002, returns to the NDL for the first time since 2018 and will make his first appearance for the Bullets against Belle Vue on July 15, replacing Josh Embleton who is likely to be ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Manager Kevin Little said: “When it became clear that Steve was looking to get back into speedway we made contact, and he jumped at the chance to join Berwick.

“He has a proven track record at this level and is obviously keen to put himself in the shop window for next season and beyond.

“His signing should ease the pressure on Connor Coles and Danny Phillips at the top end of the team and give us the opportunity to turn tight defeats so far this season into points on the board over the remaining four NDL meetings.”
