FORD CONFIDENT FOR BSN FINAL
POOLE co-promoter Dan Ford believes his side can beat Glasgow and keep up a 100 per cent record of successful Finals since he took over day-to-day running of the club.
The Pirates take on the Tigers in the BSN Series Final, heading to Ashfield this Friday before hosting the second leg next Wednesday.
And having suffered a rare defeat at Oxford last week, Ford wants his side to show their full strength when they travel north for the opener.
He said: “Glasgow are no mugs, but they have lost at home already this season and therefore there is no reason why we shouldn’t be able to turn them over.
“To do so means we will have to ride to our collective best and that will be our message to Havvy [Gary Havelock], who will be on team-manager duties on Friday.
“He is on a personal best of being unbeaten in the last five occasions he has been at the helm for us. Obviously he isn’t riding the bikes but he is doing something right in getting the boys fired up, so let’s hope he extends his run to six.”
