LIONS SEEK PAIR-FECTION
LEICESTER boss Stewart Dickson says current form played a part in his selections for this Thursday’s Premiership Pairs.
The Lions host the major event at the Pidcock Motorcycles Arena, Beaumont Park, and Dickson has plumped for his regular opening partnership of Max Fricke and Justin Sedgmen to represent the hosts.
The two Australians have combined for a host of 5-1s in the Sports Insure Premiership this season, with Sedgmen having proved a hugely successful signing after coming in as a second-string.
Dickson said: “There were a few possible choices, but the fact that they’ve been riding together as a pair means it made sense.
“Sedgy is our second-highest average rider around Leicester, and whilst it didn’t completely come down to stats he had another great meeting at Sheffield on Thursday. For me, when a rider is doing well, I’ll show faith in him.
“I asked him if he wanted to take the booking, because sometimes riders maybe don’t want to do it. Sedgy took it, he was over the moon to get the call, and so he and Max will represent us next Thursday.”
