PREVIEW: IPSWICH v SHEFFIELD (Sports Insure Prem)

IPSWICH host Sheffield in a crucial televised Sports Insure Premiership clash at Foxhall tonight (Monday).

The Witches are currently outside the play-off places after losing their last three matches, and they trail the fourth-placed Tigers by two points having raced two more fixtures.

When the sides met in Suffolk earlier in the season it went down to a last-heat decider which Ipswich won courtesy of a 5-1 from Jason Doyle and Emil Sayfutdinov.

Witches manager Ritchie Hawkins said: “We go into Monday after a disappointing run of results, but everyone is very determined to turn that around.

“We need to win on Monday and there is a change in the riding order which will hopefully give a few of the boys a boost.

“Even though things are tough we are on our home track, and we need to pull it together. We have had too many slip-ups already and we need to win.”

Sheffield boss Simon Stead said: “Ipswich is never an easy place to go to, particularly with them having Doyley and Emil at the top end of their team, but they have lost a couple of home meetings of late and they’re not on the greatest of runs.

“Having said that, we also know what they are capable of if the rest of their riders to turn up so we never take anything for granted.

“As a team, we’re feeling good about ourselves right now, the confidence is building and all of the lads are looking forward to these two meetings against Ipswich.”

Ben Barker has been ruled out for Ipswich with a back injury, and the home side will operate rider replacement.

IPSWICH: Jason Doyle, Danyon Hume, Danny King, Ben Barker R/R, Emil Sayfutdinov, Keynan Rew, Joe Thompson.
SHEFFIELD: Tobiasz Musielak, Lewis Kerr, Adam Ellis, David Bellego, Jack Holder, Kyle Howarth, Dan Gilkes.
