PREVIEW: EDINBURGH v GLASGOW (Cab Direct Champ)
EDINBURGH head into tonight’s (Friday) big Scottish derby against Glasgow with their top two riders still ruled out.
The Monarchs are without both Josh Pickering and Craig Cook for the Armadale clash in the Cab Direct Championship, with Richie Worrall and Lewis Kerr coming in to guest.
It will also be a first appearance for new signing Bastian Borke, with Dayle Wood stepping in at reserve alongside Lasse Frederiksen. The visitors are at full strength.
Borke said: “I know it is a big local rivalry, and it means a lot for the club that wins to say they are better than their biggest rivals.
“I am really looking forward to it, I hope it is a packed stadium and it is a great meeting. I can’t wait to get started, and what a way to start!”
Glasgow manager Cami Brown said: “It’s a massive meeting at Armadale. We spoke to the boys, that’s our killing ground, we’ve got to go there and get a victory.
“That would really kick start our league campaign. We’ve had a lot less meetings than other teams. Two positive results against the Monarchs would be massive this week and then at Ashfield next Friday.
“It will be tough. Just because Edinburgh have lost a couple of home meetings means nothing. They will ride out of their skins against us, you can be sure of that.”
EDINBURGH: Richie Worrall, Paco Castagna, Bastian Borke, Kye Thomson, Lewis Kerr, Dayle Wood, Lasse Fredriksen.
GLASGOW: Chris Haris, Marcin Nowak, Tom Brennan, Claus Vissing, Benjamin Basso, Ace Pijper, Lee Complin.
