PREVIEW: REDCAR v BERWICK (Cab Direct Champ)

REDCAR are set to welcome back Erik Riss after a lengthy absence through illness in tonight’s (Friday) Cab Direct Championship clash with Berwick.

Bears boss Gavin Parr has called for more consistency from his side, who experienced highs and lows in their away matches at Glasgow and Scunthorpe last week, and he is pleased to return to full strength.

Parr said: “We want more consistency as a side, so far this season it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster.

“It’s important to get the win against Berwick and then try to take that result into next week’s fixture against Poole.

“Erik had a really good practice session at Redcar on Sunday and apart from him aching after not being on the bike for so long, there wasn’t any concerns surrounding his brain fog.”

The Bandits have redeclared their side with former Edinburgh man Jacob Hook coming in for long-term injury victim Nathan Stoneman, and he is set for his debut at the ECCO Arena.

REDCAR: Danny King, Danyon Hume, Erik Riss, Jason Edwards, Charles Wright, Connor Bailey, Jake Mulford.
BERWICK: Rory Schlein, Jonas Knudsen, Leon Flint, Jye Etheridge, Thomas Jorgensen, Jacob Hook, Connor Coles.
