PREVIEW: OXFORD v MILDENHALL (NDL)
OXFORD are forced into two changes at reserve for a big night of NDL racing with leaders Mildenhall visiting Cowley tonight (Tuesday).
The Chargers, who won at both Edinburgh and Berwick last weekend, are without both Luke Killeen and Kelsey Dugard due to injury, and have called up Sam Woods and Kai Ward to come in as guests.
Meanwhile the Fen Tigers are without Ben Trigger who is on Championship duty with Plymouth, with Leicester’s in-form Ashton Boughen making a guest appearance.
Oxford boss Peter Schroeck said: “We gave Mildenhall a real run for their money away from home earlier this season. We weren’t at full strength on that occasion, so I see no reason why we shouldn’t enter this meeting confident of doing a good job.
“What we cannot afford to do is assume this meeting will come and go without incident because we recorded two good results away from home at the weekend.
“Confidence in the camp is high, but we’ll be grounding those emotions to earth when tapes rise because Mildenhall boast some real quality in their team.”
Fen Tigers boss Jason Gardner said: “Our win last year at Oxford was a massive turning point in our season, putting us into the play-offs at what seemed at the time against the odds.
“This season, only top two will do to get us back into another play-off Final, and getting the match and aggregate points again today would be a major step towards our target.”
OXFORD: Jordan Jenkins, Jacob Clouting, Henry Atkins, Jody Scott, Ryan Kinsley, Sam Woods, Kai Ward.
MILDENHALL: Alfie Bowtell, Arran Butcher, Ashton Boughen, George Congreve, Lee Complin, William Richardson, Josh Warren.
