PREVIEW: BELLE VUE v IPSWICH (Sports Insure Prem)
BELLE Vue have the chance to go back to the top of the Sports Insure Premiership table when they host Ipswich tonight (Monday).
But Aces boss Mark Lemon is mindful of the threat provided by a wounded Witches side who were beaten at home by Wolverhampton last week.
Emil Sayfutdinov makes his first appearance at the National Speedway Stadium and the clashes involving himself and Jason Doyle against Belle Vue stars Dan Bewley and Brady Kurtz are eagerly anticipated.
Lemon said: “With such strong opposition, Monday will be a huge night for us. We already hold the 49-41 aggregate lead over Ipswich and we are, of course, chasing the full three points in Manchester.
“Last week against Wolverhampton was a spectacle for the supporters, but we cannot afford to leave things as late as we did; we need to assert our dominance at home.
“Ipswich will still be mindful of the fact that we defeated them at Foxhall and will be looking to repay the compliment, something we need to ensure doesn’t happen.”
Ipswich boss Ritchie Hawkins said: “We did plenty of meetings there last year and went there enough times, and we need to use that experience to help each other. At some point, like we said the other week, it is another track we are going to have to go well at, at some point.
“We are at the stage where we can’t afford to drop too many points, so we need to go there looking for a win, and a win there would make up for our last home defeat against Wolves.”
BELLE VUE: Dan Bewley, Tom Brennan, Jaimon Lidsey, Charles Wright, Brady Kurtz, Norick Blodorn, Jake Mulford.
IPSWICH: Jason Doyle, Ben Barker, Danny King, Keynan Rew, Emil Sayfutdinov, Danyon Hume, Joe Thompson.
