PREVIEW: SHEFFIELD v KING’S LYNN (SPORTS INSURE PREM)
SHEFFIELD are back at home for the first time in seven weeks as they host King’s Lynn in the Sports Insure Premiership tonight (Thursday).
Ironically the Tigers’ last match at Owlerton was also against the Stars in the KO Cup, where they took full control of the tie with a convincing win.
But they are now looking to bounce back from recent reverses on the road in the league at Wolverhampton and Leicester.
Meanwhile Josh Pickering makes his comeback from injury for the Stars, who were disappointed to lose by 16 points at Peterborough on Monday, but Krzysztof Kasprzak is out due to illness and Ryan Douglas comes in to guest.
Sheffield boss Simon Stead said: “In some ways, it will feel like the season is starting all over again for us at Sheffield.
“I think some of the lads desperately need these home fixtures to come around to help them build up a bit of confidence again.
“Last time King’s Lynn were at Owlerton, we were more than convincing winners in the Knockout Cup – and we could do with another big win, and a big performance, on Thursday.”
King’s Lynn manager Alex Brady said: “We weren’t good enough from the gate against Peterborough, and that will be the message ahead of Thursday.
“We’ve got to make sure that we gate, and make sure that we are strong, aggressive and brave – that’s what I want from the boys, and if we can do that at Sheffield we’ll give ourselves a fighting chance.
“It’s a really tough place to go, they’re an incredible side, but we’re a good side too when we want to be, and hopefully on Thursday we can redeem ourselves a bit.”
