PREVIEW: PETERBOROUGH v KING’S LYNN (Sports Insure Prem)
PETERBOROUGH and King’s Lynn meet for the second time in five days with an aggregate point also at stake at the East of England Arena tonight (Monday).
The Panthers are still to get off the mark in the Sports Insure Premiership whilst the Stars are targeting an improvement in their away results, but they are well placed after winning 54-36 at home last week.
The hosts bring in British Champion Dan Bewley to fill their vacant position at No.1 and are set to welcome back Jordan Jenkins after missing the trip to Norfolk, but Richie Worrall is still ruled out.
Meanwhile the Stars have Tom Brennan guesting for Josh Pickering who is still sidelined with a shoulder injury.
Panthers star Benjamin Basso said: “You’ve always got to believe, and maybe we are just on point on Monday – hopefully we are!
“We are sick and tired of losing and being at the bottom of the table, so we need to turn it around and it’s got to be now or never.”
Stars boss Alex Brady said: “I’m sure Peterborough will want to come back at us, but our confidence is high and on Thursday we saw what this team is truly capable of.
“It’s now a case of making sure we replicate that on Monday and then going on beyond that, and I’m confident we can get the full five points from the two meetings.
“I’ve got no doubts that we are good enough, but me talking doesn’t prove anything. If we can add three more league points to the two we got on Thursday then suddenly the league table looks a lot nicer, and hopefully we can go on to bigger and better things.”
