SGP2 QUALIFYING ROUND-UP
ANDERS Rowe was the highest placed Great Britain rider in Saturday’s SGP2 qualification rounds – as riders now await news of the permanent wild card places in the series.
Poole man Rowe narrowly missed out at Vojens, Denmark after five riders tied on 11 points and had to compete in a series of run-offs for the last two qualifying places.
Meanwhile Drew Kemp and Dan Gilkes both had a chance of qualification heading into their last rides at Pardubice in the Czech Republic, but both unfortunately missed out on nine and eight points respectively, with the meeting won by Ipswich’s Keynan Rew.
Leon Flint scored seven in his qualifier at Krsko, Slovenia, where Belle Vue’s Norick Blodorn made it through.
With Poland, Denmark and Sweden all having three riders qualified and one each from Australia, Germany and Latvia, it is hoped that the FIM allocate at least one of the British riders a permanent SGP2 wild card at their decision meeting later today (Sunday).
