PREVIEW: KING’S LYNN v PETERBOROUGH (Sports Insure Prem)
KING’S Lynn host Peterborough at the Adrian Flux Arena tonight (Thursday) with both teams desperate to kickstart their seasons.
The Stars have one win so far in the Sports Insure Premiership whilst the Panthers are still to get off the mark – and are missing two riders due to injury.
Former Lynn racer Richie Worrall is out with a shoulder problem and Jordan Jenkins misses the meeting due to concussion, whilst another ex-Star Richard Lawson guests at No.1. Sam Hagon steps in at reserve.
Stars skipper Josh Pickering is still out with a shoulder injury, with his predecessor Lewis Kerr coming in to guest.
Lynn boss Alex Brady said: “This is where the season starts for me, and I think this next week is going to shape what happens for us going forwards.
“We’ve got to be targeting five points from these home and away matches. We need to get the points on the board, and five points across the two meetings would make a massive difference to us in the league table. We don’t want to be playing catch-up, which was our problem last season.”
The Panthers have revised their riding order with Benjamin Basso moving to No.2, exchanging places with captain Hans Andersen.
Manager Rob Lyon said: “We know what Ben is capable of, he needs to do it on a consistent basis, but at the start of the season we were asking this kid to go in as third heat-leader even with a No.1 in the side.
“It’s a lot of pressure, second season syndrome I call it, so he has been suffering, but he will come good eventually.
“I know things are a far cry from where they were a couple of years ago, but we have to keep battling.”
KING’S LYNN: Nicolai Klindt, Thomas Jorgensen, Frederik Jakobsen, Krzysztof Kasprzak, Michael Palm Toft, Lewis Kerr, Jason Edwards.
PETERBOROUGH: Richard Lawson, Benjamin Basso, Richie Worrall r/r, Hans Andersen, Niels-Kristian Iversen, Ben Cook, Sam Hagon.
