PREVIEW: BIRMINGHAM v EDINBURGH (Cab Direct Champ)

BIRMINGHAM welcome back James Wright for their Cab Direct Championship clash with Edinburgh at Perry Barr tonight (Wednesday) – but are still unable to track a full line-up.

Stefan Nielsen crashed out at Plymouth on Tuesday and misses the meeting due to an ankle injury, with rider replacement in operation.

The Monarchs have enjoyed good results in recent visits to the West Midlands venue, and with Josh Pickering still on the sidelines they bring in Rory Schlein to guest at No.1.

Birmingham boss Laurence Rogers said: “We said that we were treating the arrival of the league fixtures as a fresh start with the slate wiped clean – and full credit to the lads, they got the job done at Plymouth superbly.

“We obviously wanted our first home win of the season anyway, but for me, we now have to make sure we come away with the league points against Edinburgh even more so.”

BIRMINGHAM: Nick Morris, Alfie Bowtell, James Wright, Stefan Nielsen r/r, Justin Sedgmen, Joe Thompson, James Pearson, Arran Butcher (no.8).
EDINBURGH: Rory Schlein, Lasse Fredriksen, Kye Thomson, Paco Castagna, Craig Cook, Kyle Bickley, Jacob Hook.
