PREVIEW: SCUNTHORPE v GLASGOW (BSN S/F)

SCUNTHORPE promoter Rob Godfrey has highlighted the importance of their home BSN Series semi-final clash with Glasgow at the Eddie Wright Raceway tonight (Friday).

The Scorpions have qualified for their first semi-final in a national competition for five years, and are now seeking to build a lead from the first leg to take to Ashfield next Friday.

Recent signings Max Clegg and Nathan Ablitt make their home debuts for the Scorpions, with both sides declaring full-strength line-ups.

Godfrey said: “It’s good to make it through to the semi-finals of the BSN Series, but of course we don’t want to stop there. We want to beat Glasgow and make it through to the Final, against Poole or Redcar.

“Our away form is much improved this season, but it’s still important for us to build up a nice lead from the first leg at the Eddie Wright Raceway to take up to Glasgow next Friday in the second leg. The bigger our lead, the better.

“I’m convinced that Max and Nathan will have a better meeting than they did at Berwick, while we also had a few niggly machinery problems up there that we hopefully have put behind us.

“It’s going to be a great contest between two sides that are both gunning for the Final. There’s going to be some tremendous racing and I hope our supporters turn up in numbers and get right behind the lads, because we really want a Cup Final at Scunthorpe next month.”

SCUNTHORPE: Ryan Douglas, Simon Lambert, Max Clegg, Jake Allen, Michael Palm Toft, Nathan Ablitt, Connor Mountain.
GLASGOW: Chris Harris, Marcin Nowak, Benjamin Basso, Claus Vissing, Tom Brennan, Lee Complin, Ace Pijper.
