PREVIEW: BELLE VUE v LEICESTER (Prem)
PREMIERSHIP leaders Belle Vue kick off a busy Bank Holiday Monday schedule as they host Leicester with a midday start in Manchester.
The two sides fought out a terrific battle in the East Midlands ten days ago, with the meeting being decided in the in-form Aces’ favour in a Super Heat following a 45-45 draw.
Monday’s return fixture features a return to the National Speedway Stadium for Lions No.1 Max Fricke, who had previously spent his entire UK top-flight career with Belle Vue.
Aces youngster Jake Mulford said: “It was a close match away against the Lions. I only scored one but I felt good on the bike, I had speed, and I was right behind them, and I think that is why I’m in a very positive mindset about everything.
“It’ll be a different story come Monday and I know those boys will be looking to pay us back, and they’ve got some very experienced guys who know and like this track, so it won’t be easy.
“But I think that if we can continue to build on the form that we have found lately we can get the job done, and I’m looking forward to getting back out there and putting in more laps.”
Lions boss Stewart Dickson said: “We have raced four meetings so far and we have scored 42, 47, 43 and 45, so we were not far away from turning three of those narrow losses into wins.
“Belle Vue will be tough, we know that, but maybe with it being a lunchtime start and different track conditions, it helps us.
“As I’ve previously stated, we want to be competitive in this league, which we have been, but I do also feel we have more to come collectively.”
BELLE VUE: Dan Bewley, Norick Blodorn, Tom Brennan, Charles Wright, Brady Kurtz, Jaimon Lidsey, Jake Mulford.
