POSTPONED: WOLVERHAMPTON v LEICESTER (Prem)

WOLVERHAMPTON’S home clash with Leicester on Monday in the Premiership has been postponed. A new date is to be agreed.

WOLVERHAMPTON host Leicester in a Midlands derby with extra significance at Monmore Green tonight (Monday).

It’s the first meeting for the home club following last week’s shock news that they are set to lose the use of their stadium at the end of the season, and a big crowd is expected to show their support.

On-track, Wolves have started well with two big home wins, and in-form Scott Nicholls once again guests for the injured Luke Becker, whilst the Lions are at full strength in their first away league match.

Wolves skipper Sam Masters said: “Leicester have got a solid side together this year and they’ve got riders who always seem to go well at Wolves.

“So we are expecting them to give us a challenge – but we’re in good form around Wolves ourselves right now.

“The Wolves fans mean so much to us as riders; hopefully we can go out there on Monday and get another win for them because they’ve gone through a lot over the past week or so.”

Lions boss Stewart Dickson said: “Wolves have started very well and are formidable at home, but we do have riders who can ride that track and Nick Morris is an ex-Wolverhampton rider.

“I would expect a big turnout after the devasting news that they received last week, and we wish Wolverhampton all the best in their quest to remain there for years to come.

“I think they’ll come out all guns blazing and we’re in for a tough night there – but it’s the Premiership, we don’t expect anything else. We’ll certainly go there and give it our best shot.”
