PREVIEW: BELLE VUE v PETERBOROUGH (Prem)
BELLE Vue look to back up a successful week on the road when they host Peterborough at the National Speedway Stadium tonight (Monday).
The Aces picked up a maximum six points from three away matches in eight days, including a 55-35 victory at the East of England Arena which leaves them strongly placed for the aggregate point.
Their only home match of 2023 a month ago saw them slip to defeat against Sheffield, but they face a Panthers side who are yet to get off the mark and are still striving to secure a replacement for Nicki Pedersen at No.1.
Chris Harris comes in as a guest after his fixture for Leicester at Wolverhampton was postponed earlier in the day, and the Panthers operate rider replacement for Richie Worrall who has an SEC qualifier in Italy on Tuesday.
Aces boss Mark Lemon said: “It’s been a long time since we won two consecutive meetings on the road, never mind three, so to say that we’re very happy with last week is an understatement.
“But we are well overdue a win at the National Speedway Stadium and our focus is very much on making that happen. I’m confident the boys will deliver the goods.
“The line was drawn under the Wolverhampton match and the resolve of the boys since then has been outstanding, and we only have to look at our results since then as testament to that.”
Panthers captain Hans Andersen said: “We’ve got riders who are pretty good around Belle Vue, and Niels (Iversen) was super-fast there in the Peter Craven not long ago.
“We go there thinking we can win, otherwise there’s no point in us going.”
BELLE VUE: Dan Bewley, Norick Blodorn, Tom Brennan, Charles Wright, Brady Kurtz, Jaimon Lidsey, Jake Mulford.
