DOYLE TO FACE PIRATES

FORMER Swindon skipper Jason Doyle has confirmed another appearance in Robins colours when a Select team race at Poole next month.

Doyle, who is already lined up to lead the former Blunsdon outfit at Oxford on Wednesday, has also committed to the fixture at Wimborne Road on May 10 with the club having been out of the sport since the Australian led them to a league and Cup double in 2019.

Poole promoter Dan Ford said: “We are absolutely delighted that Jason has signed up for the meeting.

“I am sure that like me, many fans will believe that you can’t have a Swindon representative team without having Doyley in the side and I know that Rosco (Alun Rossiter) is determined to put together a strong and competitive team.

“It might only be a challenge match, but it is certain to be a passionate one which neither side will want to lose.”
