PREVIEW: GLASGOW v BERWICK (BSN Series)

GLASGOW host Berwick at Ashfield tonight (Friday) in the first of two BSN Series fixtures between the sides in the space of 24 hours.

The Tigers collected three points out of five against Edinburgh last week and would therefore clinch group victory with a maximum haul this weekend.

Both sides are at full strength on Friday with Glasgow No.1 Chris Harris facing his club of last season, whilst youngster Ace Pijper also rode for Berwick in 2022 in the National Development League.

Tigers boss Cami Brown said: “They are a very decent looking side, solid throughout the order and with plenty of potential in every department.

“I’ve made it clear on plenty of occasions, there is not one weak team in the Championship. Every team will pose a big threat in every meeting.

“The Bandits have a strong top three in Rory Schlein, Thomas Jorgensen and Leon Flint which means they will be a force home and away.

“The main aim, once again, will be to get the aggregate bonus point at the very least. If we could win both meetings it would book our place in the next stage of the BSN Series.”

Flint said: “While we were disappointed with the final score at Redcar we still felt that there was plenty of good things to build on.

“Meetings don’t come much tougher than Glasgow who start each season as favourites to win silverware.

“A lot has been said in the build-up about the ex-Berwick riders, but we have a side that knows its way around Shielfield too. As always it promises to be two competitive meetings.”

GLASGOW: Chris Harris, Marcin Nowak, Benjamin Basso, Claus Vissing, Tom Brennan, Lee Complin, Ace Pijper.
BERWICK: Thomas Jorgensen, Jonas Knudsen, Leon Flint, Jye Etheridge, Rory Schlein, Connor Coles, Nathan Stoneman.
