PREVIEW: EDINBURGH v BELLE VUE (NDL)

EDINBURGH’S newly rebranded Monarchs Academy race for the first time this season in the NDL at home to Belle Vue tonight (Friday).

Ironically it was a surprise defeat at Armadale last September which ended the Colts’ play-off aspirations, but both teams have made substantial changes to their 2022 line-ups.

Edinburgh skipper Kyle Bickley said: “I still have friends at Belle Vue, I rode there for four years and it is a great club, so it is always nice to see folk from there.

“But I ride for Edinburgh now so that is where my focus is. And tonight we are going for the win, that is all that matters.”

Colts star Sam Hagon said: “I think our performance on Good Friday (against Berwick) proved several things, firstly to myself as an individual and what I’m capable of but also as a team overall.

“Edinburgh isn’t Belle Vue though, and not only are they very skilled around their track they also have some very strong riders who will make us work hard.

“But there are no easy meetings as far as we’re concerned. All we can do is go there and do our best, and if our best is good enough then hopefully, we will bring home a few more league points.”
