PREVIEW: WOLVERHAMPTON v BELLE VUE (P-KOC)

WOLVERHAMPTON will now stage the first leg of their Knockout Cup clash with Belle Vue at Monmore Green tonight (8pm).

The sides were due to meet twice in a traditional Bank Holiday double header, but the midday encounter at the National Speedway Stadium fell victim to the weather.

Scott Nicholls makes his official 2023 Wolves debut after signing as a short-term replacement for the injured Luke Becker, having scored a paid maximum as a guest last week

Meanwhile new averages are in play for the Aces which sees Jaimon Lidsey drop to reserve whilst Tom Brennan moves into the main body of the side. Anders Rowe guests in the Rising Star berth with Jake Mulford sidelined by concussion.

Wolves’ former Belle Vue racer Steve Worrall said: “History shows these meetings are quite tasty.

“I know Wolves have got the better of Belle Vue more often than not in recent times and it would be good to keep that going.

“As a team we all rode really well against King’s Lynn and hopefully it’s a sign of things to come.”

Aces CEO Mark Lemon said: “We always say that results elsewhere around the country have no impact on the meeting at hand, but we would be fools not to be paying attention to what our rivals are doing.

“We can’t ignore the fact that the Wolves put in a very strong offensive against King’s Lynn at Monmore Green.”

WOLVERHAMPTON: Sam Masters, Steve Worrall, Rory Schlein, Ryan Douglas, Scott Nicholls, Zach Cook, Leon Flint.
BELLE VUE: Dan Bewley, Norick Blodorn, Tom Brennan, Charles Wright, Brady Kurtz, Jaimon Lidsey, Anders Rowe.
