SCHLEIN’S PERFECT WEEKEND

RORY Schlein warmed up for his return to British racing this season with victory in the South Australian Solo Championship at Gillman Speedway.

Schlein, who retired at the end of 2021 but will make a rapid comeback with Berwick and Wolverhampton this year, went unbeaten for a fifth state title – 16 years after his previous triumph – and then reeled off four more race wins in Renmark the following evening.

He said: “I’m very happy to get the fifth South Australian title in the bank.

“After 16 months out I’ve got to be pleased with the two meetings back.

“The return is still not fully up to speed yet but the more time I spend in the saddle that will come.”
