LINDBACK TO RACE FOR WORRALL
FORMER Poole favourite Antonio Lindback will make a rare UK appearance when he races in Steve Worrall’s Testimonial at Wimborne Road on March 29.
The Swede remains the track record holder at the Dorset venue from his time with the Pirates in 2003-06, and he returned to the club as injury cover in 2016.
Lindback, who also had a spell with Belle Vue in 2007, will race for Poole in Worrall’s benefit meeting, which will take the form of a challenge match between the Pirates and the Aces, who were both senior league champions last year.
Worrall said: “When I announced the format of my Testimonial meeting the supporters were as excited as I am to see two giants of British Speedway going head-to-head.
“I want to kick off the season at Wimborne Road in the biggest possible way and I am delighted that Antonio agreed to be a part of it.
“He is still the track record holder at Poole, the fastest man in Dorset, and he’s a former Pirate to boot! For me, it felt like a no-brainer to invite him back to be a Pirate once more.”
