PC VISITING SHEFFIELD

FORMER World Champion Peter Collins will be the special guest at Sheffield’s final Premiership match of the season when they host Ipswich on Monday.

Collins will be on hand to sign copies of his brand-new 506-page autobiography published last week, and he will be present at the Retro Speedway table in front of the main grandstand at Owlerton.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to going back to Sheffield. I first went there by bus as a 14-year-old fan and have always enjoyed racing there – it has a great reputation as one of the best racetracks in World Speedway.

“There are plenty of stories in my book that I hope will particularly interest Tigers fans – from funny tales of touring Australia and New Zealand with Arnie Haley, Reg Wilson and Doug Wyer, to riding for Eric Boocock (who wrote the foreword) and Frank Varey, and much more.”
