Report

KING’S Lynn wrapped up the 2022 campaign at the Adrian Flux Arena by defeating Premiership champions Belle Vue 55-35.

Richard Lawson scored a five-ride paid maximum for the Stars, with 14+1, and Frederik Jakobsen continued his major impact at reserve with 13+1, with Rising Star Jason Edwards impressing on 8+2.

The Aces’ scorechart was dominated by Brady Kurtz with 16+1 and Matej Zagar on 12+1 as the visitors raced without recent signing Robert Lambert who was ruled out with a knee injury.

Stars boss Alex Brady said: “We did a thoroughly professional job. It might have been seen as a bit of a dead rubber, but all six of our boys did the job they came to do.

“Belle Vue came here to win too. I know people will draw their own conclusions about the scoreline but there was some terrific racing, some of the best of the season to be honest, and I was really pleased.”

Aces manager Mark Lemon said: “We’ve got to give a lot of credit to King’s Lynn tonight. They had a point to prove and the track was very well prepared.

“Unfortunately, we weren’t at full strength, being without both Charles (Wright) and Jye (Etheridge), and the loss of Robert Lambert really hurt us, and we wish all the boys a speedy recovery.”
