PREVIEW: POOLE v GLASGOW (PO SF)

POOLE and Glasgow make a second attempt at their Championship play-off semi-final with the opener now taking place at Wimborne Road tonight (Wednesday).

Sunday’s original first leg at Ashfield was abandoned after five races with the result not standing, and the tie will now be concluded back in Scotland this Saturday.

The clubs had contrasting views over the call-off, and both declare unchanged line-ups tonight with Paul Starke continuing as a guest at reserve for the Tigers.

Poole co-promoter Danny Ford said: “If the lads needed any further winding up for Wednesday, then Glasgow served it to us on Sunday.

“We are adamant that we could have got that meeting through, but they weren’t too keen. We were more than willing to hold the meeting back a bit if they wanted to do some extra track grading.

“But it is what it is, and we now go into Wednesday with a chance to build a decent advantage to have behind us when we go there again this Saturday.

“I think we showed against Leicester last week just what our team is capable of, and I have been shouting about that all season.”

Glasgow boss Cami Brown said: “Wednesday night is going to be difficult – Poole are going to be fired up for it, so we need to make sure our guys are fired up too.”
