BRUMMIES PLANNING BIG AL TRIBUTE
BIRMINGHAM have announced the line-ups for their season finale against a Cradley Heath Select for the Alan Grahame Memorial Trophy on Wednesday.
Grahame, who finished second to brother Andy in the 1982 British Final, tragically died at the age of 67 last October following a sidecar accident.
The teams will be led by top Championship stars Josh Pickering and Ryan Douglas, whilst the Heathens side also includes a return to the sport for Tom Perry some three years after his last competitive appearance, whilst former boss Will Pottinger will manage the Heathens.
Brummies co-promoter Laurence Rogers said: “It will be our pleasure to welcome the whole Grahame family to Perry Barr on Wednesday to remember ‘Big Al’.
“We wanted to put a meeting on in his memory and so it had to be the Brummies versus the Heathens as they were the two clubs he was synonymous for racing for in the Midlands.
“It’s still hard to believe he’s no longer with us; he was actually at Birmingham the Wednesday night before his accident and he was on top form that night.”
