PREVIEW: LEICESTER v KENT (NDL)
LEICESTER’S National Development League side can secure play-off qualification tonight (Saturday) as they host Kent at the Paul Chapman & Sons Arena.
The Lion Cubs need to beat the Royals by more than six points to be mathematically certain of a top four finish with two matches still to race.
Meanwhile the visitors still have an outside chance of reaching the play-offs, and those hopes depend on a busy run this week including a home match tomorrow and a trip to Oxford on Wednesday.
The home side bring in Adam Roynon to guest for Dan Thompson who is on European Under-19 duty, whilst the Royals hand a debut to recent signing Sam Woods, and also track Max Clegg who is a regular for Leicester’s senior side.
Lion Cubs boss Dave Howard said: “It’s a vital meeting for us, and with Kent having brought in Max it’s sure to be a tough battle, but one we must win to keep the Lion Cubs on the road to the play-offs.
“It is essential that we carry on with the home form we have shown all season, with the help of our supporters. We want a busy end to the season to start in positive fashion.”
LEICESTER: Adam Roynon, Max Perry, Connor Coles, Tom Spencer, Joe Thompson, Vinnie Foord, Mickie Simpson.
KENT: Ben Morley, Sam Woods, Danno Verge, Connor King, Max Clegg, Chris Watts, Sam Woolley.
