PREVIEW: CLRC, POOLE
POOLE stage the Championship League Riders’ Championship at Wimborne Road tonight (Wednesday) with all ten clubs represented.
The event makes a welcome return to the calendar after last being staged before the pandemic, with Erik Riss having triumphed at Sheffield in 2019.
Danny King and Richard Lawson carry the hopes of the home club, with the line-up also including former winners Nick Morris and Sam Masters.
Pirates co-promoter Danny Ford said: “We are honoured to be able to stage a meeting of this prestige. It has been some years since we had a big individual meeting here at Wimborne Road and when you look at the line-up for the meeting it is such a difficult one to call.
“I think it is impossible to actually pick a winner when you see we have the likes of Chris Harris, Kyle Howarth, Scott Nicholls and Sam Masters, all riders that have been here this season with their respective teams in the league and absolutely tore us apart.
“They will of course be keen to replicate that kind of form, and then you look at our two representatives, Danny and Richard and they have both been in absolutely stellar form of late, so they must well be in with a shout.
“After the success we had here with last week’s Summer Special we are of course hoping that may have given a few more people the speedway bug and we can attract another huge crowd for Wednesday’s meeting.”
The meeting will also be live streamed by the British Speedway Network at https://watch.britishspeedway.co.uk .
CLRC LINE-UP: Michael Palm Toft, Leon Flint, Lewis Kerr, Ryan Douglas, Nick Morris, Danny King, Chris Harris, Richard Lawson, Scott Nicholls, Justin Sedgmen, Charles Wright, Sam Masters, Troy Batchelor, Tom Brennan, Josh Pickering, Kyle Howarth.
