PREVIEW: BELLE VUE v LEICESTER (NDL)

BELLE Vue host Leicester in a clash of two play-off hopefuls at the National Speedway Stadium tonight (Friday).

The Colts fourth in the table and boast a hugely impressive home record whilst the Lion Cubs are second and have already picked up two wins and a draw on their travels.

Both sides are at full strength with Leicester making a positional switch as Max Perry moves up into the top five, exchanging places with Mickie Simpson.

Colts co-boss Steve Williams said: “Leicester have got an excellent calibre of rider in their team, very like ourselves, so we feel it will be a very interesting evening and we’ll need to be at the top of our game.

“Quite a few of their boys know our track very well which could make things slightly more difficult than we’re used to, but we know the lads will dig that extra bit deeper.

“We only have three meetings left to secure as many points as we can; every race is vital, and we need to give it our all to put our last three home points on the board.”

Cubs boss Dave Howard said: “In every away match the objective is to come away with at least a point, although obviously Belle Vue are very strong at home.

“They’ve got a team of riders who ride the bigger tracks well so we know how good they are on their home circuit – but the aim is to come away with at least a point if we can, and that’s what we’ll be looking to do.”

BELLE VUE: Jake Mulford, Nathan Ablitt, Harry McGurk, Sam McGurk, Jack Smith, Archie Freeman, Freddy Hodder.
LEICESTER: Dan Thompson, Max Perry, Connor Coles, Tom Spencer, Joe Thompson, Vinnie Foord, Mickie Simpson.
