PREVIEW: POOLE v BIRMINGHAM (CJL)
POOLE host injury-ravaged Birmingham at Wimborne Road tonight (Friday) as they look to go to the top of their Championship Jubilee League group.
The Brummies saw Ashley Morris and Stefan Nielsen added to their casualty list in Wednesday’s meeting at Perry Barr, and neither are fit for the return.
Poole operate rider replacement for Drew Kemp and bring in Connor Coles to guest for Nathan Ablitt, as both are on international duty this weekend, whilst the Brummies have Paul Starke, Lee Complin, Tom Woolley and Danno Verge all standing in.
Pirates boss Neil Middleditch said: “You have to feel sorry for Birmingham and what they are going through at the moment. I never like to see a club struggle, but injuries are really hitting them at present.
“That said, it is our job to go out and beat what is put up against us and we will be looking to keep our 100 per cent record in this competition intact. Only one team goes through from the group, and we want that to be us.”
POOLE: Steve Worrall, Drew Kemp r/r, Danny King, Zach Cook, Richard Lawson, Ben Cook, Connor Coles.
BIRMINGHAM: Josh Auty r/r, Danno Verge, Paul Starke, Tom Woolley, Justin Sedgmen, Lee Complin, Ben Morley.
