GB MAKE IT THROUGH

GREAT Britain survived a major scare to book their place in Saturday’s Speedway of Nations Final at Vojens.

The defending champions had to go into the race-off against France in the semi-final on Thursday, for the right to join Sweden and the Czech Republic in the Final.

Tai Woffinden and Dan Bewley got the better of David Bellego and Dimitri Berge to ensure GB took the third qualifying place.

Co-boss Olly Allen said: “It was a tough night, and it was probably closer than people expected.

“One thing I have to say is Tai was excellent. It was a team effort, but Tai was fantastic. When the pressure is on and you need one guy to deliver, I don’t think there are many better.”

Attention switches to the SON2 competition on Friday with GB represented by Tom Brennan, Drew Kemp and Leon Flint.
