SCORPIONS BRING IN ROYNON

SCUNTHORPE have moved to sign Adam Roynon after his recent release from Championship rivals Redcar.

Roynon replaces Connor Coles for the Scorpions and is set to make his debut when they visit Poole on Wednesday July 20.

Co-promoter Rob Godfrey said: “Once Adam became available, we realised we needed to sign him. He wasn’t having a great time at Redcar, but he was riding for them up at No.2.  

“Adam will slot into our team at No.6 on a 3.00 average. I’m convinced he can do the job that we need him to, which is to pick up a few points per meeting.

“We thank Connor Coles for his efforts with the club. He was frequently getting amongst the other riders and wasn’t far off getting some decent points returns.

“We notice Connor scored a lot of points for the Leicester National League team in their latest meeting, and I hope it’s not too long until his next chance at Championship level.”
