GET WELL SOON DAVE

SCUNTHORPE team manager Dave Peet is to undergo surgery to remove his cancer on Tuesday.

Peet, a former speedway referee, has been Scorpions boss since 2013 after previously taking charge of Hull and Berwick. He missed Sunday’s home win over Edinburgh with King’s Lynn co-promoter Dale Allitt standing in.

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “I’m sure everyone will join me in sending our very best wishes to Dave, who was diagnosed with bowel cancer about a month ago.

“Dave is very upbeat and positive about everything, but his recovery period is likely to be several weeks, so his season is probably over as far as team managing the Scorpions goes.

“Get well soon Dave and our thoughts are with you and Lorraine.”

All in British Speedway wish Dave all the very best and we hope to see him back at the track as soon as his health allows.
