PREVIEW: SCUNTHORPE v REDCAR (Champ)

SCUNTHORPE are all set for a big Bank Holiday clash with Redcar today (Friday) with an early start of 5pm at the Eddie Wright Raceway.

The Scorpions are offering free admission for all children aged 17 and under, and welcome back Ryan Douglas from a shoulder injury.

Meanwhile Justin Sedgmen guests for the suspended Tero Aarnio, and Connor Coles comes in for the injured Ryan Kinsley, against a full-strength Bears side.

Scorpions promoter Rob Godfrey said: “There’s something about clashes between Scunthorpe and Redcar – they always seem to deliver brilliant racing. I’m sure everyone remembers last season’s epic clash that wasn’t decided until the final bend of the final race.

“It’s a shame that Redcar had to call off the meeting at their place on Sunday, but it now means that our meeting at the Eddie Wright Raceway is the only time that the two teams are racing over the Jubilee Holiday Weekend and I’m hopeful that a fair few Redcar fans might decide to make the trip down, because there’s not too far between our two tracks.

“Redcar will present a tough challenge, but if we fire on all cylinders, we can defeat them and take the three points.”
